Warzone 2’s mechanics are not, of course, built around stealth in the same way that the Splinter Cell and Assassin’s Creed series are. In both of those series, there is a lot more emphasis on being stealthy and catching enemies off guard to get surprise kills. While the game is usually played in a much less stealthy manner, Warzone 2 does let players use finishing moves to get stealth kills. It takes good positioning and skill to successfully pull off a finishing move, so it’s not the easiest way to take enemies down.

In a clip posted to the Call of Duty: Warzone 2 subreddit, player Carnivul showcased their impressive sneaking skills. The video begins with a voiceover saying, “This is what happens when a Splinter Cell and Assassin’s Creed player tries out Call of Duty third person.” Carnivul crouches by a skylight as an enemy passes by beneath them, then they jump down and use their finishing move to assassinate the unsuspecting player. The dead player alerts his teammate that someone just killed him, and Carnivul sprints away. He climbs up onto the roof of a nearby building and spots the second enemy in a nearby window. In a move straight out of an Assassin’s Creed gameplay video, Carnivul jumps from the roof into the window and dashes behind the second enemy player for a brutal finishing move kill.
Getting one kill on an unsuspecting enemy with a finishing move already makes for a cool clip, although it’s not uncommon. The getaway and parkour to secure the second stealth kill are what really elevates Carnivul’s clip to the next level though. In the past, Call of Duty: Warzone players have expressed concerns about melee in the game, but this clip doesn’t show any sort of abuse of the melee system, instead showcasing some tactical creativity and skill.
A lot of Call of Duty players focus more on fast-paced and aggressive gameplay and often deride players who go for a stealthier or slower-paced game as campers. Funnily enough, during a Halloween event, Call of Duty developer Activision even called camping cowardice since the game mode involved a fear meter that filled up when players weren’t playing aggressively enough. While this criticism might be valid for some instances of slower and stealthier play, Carnivul’s skillful assassinations are a lot more dynamic than what most players see as camping.
